Saudi Arabia to Have World’s Tallest, Fastest Roller Coaster Ride with a Speed of 250km per Hour

The world’s fastest and tallest roller coaster is all set to be a part of an entertainment park due to open near Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2023. Called Falcon’s Flight, the roller coaster will travel across four kilometres of track reaching speeds of 250 km/hr. It will also be the world’s tallest free-standing roller coaster.

The mega entertainment park, called Six Flags Qiddiya, is being built by the Qiddiya Investment Company, which has partnered with the US-headquartered Six Flags to build the park. Construction work of the park started in 2018.

In terms of the ride, it will take up to 20 passengers on a three-minute ride that will offer picturesque views of Six Flags Qiddiya. And if everything goes as planned, then travellers are in for some serious thrills. As for the park, Six Flags Qiddiya will feature 28 rides and attractions across six themed lands: The City of Thrills; Discovery Springs; Steam Town; Twilight Gardens; Valley of Fortune; and Grand Exposition.

Appropriately, the Falcon’s Flight will be part of the City of Thrills, along with Sirocco Tower, which will be the world’s tallest drop-tower ride. Construction on the park, located about 40 minutes from Riyadh, kicked off in 2018.

The current record holder of the world’s fastest roller coaster title is the Formula Rossa- at Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi. It travels at speeds of up to 240 kilometres per hour, and once this new roller coaster gets launched, it’s bound to break all the records.
