A story of rivalry connects Lamborghini and Ferrari. Ferrari was an established brand that manufactured luxury sports cars even before Lamborghini came to the scene. Ferruccio Lamborghini, the man behind Lamborghini cars belonged to a family of grape farmers in Italy. He made agricultural machinery such as tractors out of old military machines. Luck favoured him and Lamborghini soon grew rich. Like any other rich businessman, Lamborghini bought trending sports cars including Ferrari. However, he had a problem with his Ferrari; the interior clutch often needed repairs.
Being a good mechanic himself, he decided to talk about this to Ferrari, but his comments and suggestions were not well-received. An insulted Lamborghini decided to make stylish, high performance sports cars. By the early 1960s, Lamborghini had become almost as powerful and wealthy as Ferrari.
