What makes Seoul a futuristic city?

Seoul is the capital of South Korea. Located in the centre of the Korean peninsula, the city is also the largest Metropolis of the country.

Seoul has played important roles in the politics of the region for centuries, as the city is located in a strategically significant area. Therefore, from one kingdom to the next, the city has been a matter of hot contest in terms of defence and economy.

In spite of its long history of conquests and wars, Seoul is an excellent example of a futuristic city today. The city is technologically very advanced. Artists and architects have made the city beautiful by crafting glass, concrete and steel into natural forms. It has also transformed its image from an industrial city to an appealing metropolis with its exquisite parks and the stunning architectural designs of its buildings.

At the same time, Seoul has maintained its culture and tradition by maintaining its temples, palaces, cutting edge design and mountain trails. The heritage sites of the city include the Jongmyo shrine, the alleys between the graceful traditional wooden homes, and the magnificent city walls.
