Why is Tokyo a fascinating city?

The people of Japan have always captured the attention of the world for their industrious nature and never-say-die attitude. Wars and natural calamities have devastated the country many times; yet it always bounced back strongly in no time! The city of Tokyo is the capital of Japan.

Tokyo is the largest city in Japan, and is one of the most thickly populated metropolitan areas in the world. Literally, the name Tokyo means ‘eastern capital’. It is a city that hosts the latest trends and some of the oldest traditions in the world simultaneously. While the city is highly modern with its soaring skyscrapers, cosmopolitan industries, outsized shopping arcades and extravagant bars and lounges, it keeps and nurtures time-honoured traditions in the form of its shrines, guesthouses and many museums.

The city is also home to a fast-growing business and finance sector. Some of the world’s most advanced investment banks and insurance companies are found in Tokyo. Fifty-one of the Fortune Global 500 companies are housed in the city. No other city in the world has that many companies in them!
