What is an amoeba?

An amoeba is a tiny, shapeless animal that is composed of a single cell. It has no real body shape, and it moves by flowing around slowly. If you have extremely good eyesight, you could just about see an amoeba as a very tiny speck. Amoebas feed by flowing over their food and absorbing it. They live mainly on other small creatures and bacteria.
